Each carrier is totally disassembled, cleaned and then all the parts are inspected. Once disassembled, we check for the following:

Broken cam gear
Stripped governor teeth
Worn out case holes
Worn out clutch packs
Spun bearing journals
Worn or galled cross shaft and pitted side or spider gears

The carrier is carefully re-assembled, setting the internal end play back to within GM specifications. The old side bearings are removed and a new set of side bearings are installed along with new bearing races. It comes with a new GM cross shaft bolt, then its carefully packaged and sent back to you for installation.
