Each carrier is totally disassembled, cleaned and then all the parts are inspected. Once disassembled, we check for the following:

  • Broken cam gear
  • Stripped governor teeth
  • Worn out case holes
  • Worn out clutch packs
  • Spun bearing journals
  • Worn or galled cross shaft and pitted side or spider gears

The carrier is carefully re-assembled, setting the internal end play back to within GM specifications. The old side bearings are removed and a new set of side bearings are installed along with new bearing races. It comes with a new GM cross shaft bolt, then its carefully packaged and sent back to you for installation.
